Mrs Shuttleworth’s most respectfull Compliments waite upon Dear Mrs Hare
and she returns her thanks for her last favor wch she woud with pleasure have
answerd before this if her naughty Stomach woud have permitted her – however at prest
she is happy to inform her Friend tis easier (but cannot get the Cause removed as yet
and quite tired with taking Druggs – This moment the Silk, and Gauze are arrived safe
they both meet my approbation Indeed I shoud greatly admire the Silk but when I reflect
upon the unhappy occasion I {?have} it – the loss of my Dear Companion takes every other
pleasure from me – I shall be truly glad to hear your amiable Daughter finds the
benefit from the Country Air you {?expected} – Mrs Shuttleworths gratefull thanks to
her Friend, for the trouble she has given her, and shall be hapy to make a return
and will discharge her debts as soon as possible – The Wine is not arrived
Mrs S says nothing abt her Amiable Capn as she dare say Mrs Hare had the pleasure
of seeing him since she had – however she hopes to enjoy that great satisfaction on Tuesday

Christiana Shuttleworth to Ann Hare, 19 April 1781

A short note apologising for her long silence, but her 'naughty' stomach has prevented her from writing, she has received the silk and gauze but she is unable to really enjoy it given the reason it will be worn for [?bereavement], hoping that Ann Hare's daughter will benefit from country air
