I have but just time to acquaint my
Dear Mrs Hare how very acceptable her Letter was to me
to hear I was to enjoy the satisfaction of her Company the latter
end of next week – I beg to know the day when you intend me that
happiness, but do not imagine this request prevents from making a
Stranger of you, as I never intend to treat my Friends with that [illeg]
but the motive of my knowledge is to have your Room and Bed
properly Aired this cold weather before you enter it as you certainly
are a Charitable Creature, to come to see so stupid a Bein g- I asked
my Dear Friend I am very Malancholy at prest on acct of my
{?most} [damaged] beloved Amiable James the Complaint in his side returns more
frequently and w.th greater severity – If I do not receive a better acct
of his Health or an Assurance that he can come to me – Tho I am
in a very indifferent weak state of Health I am fully determined
to risqué all that to attend my dear precious little fellow, who’s Life to
me is so desireable, (for the Love of a Parent) sett aside I do not
know a more worthy young man tho a very naughty one to himself
Accept my Thanks for all your goodness to me, which I hope soon
to return in Person – my best wishes Attend Miss Moore for her

Christiana Shuttleworth to Ann Hare, 13 January 1781

Thanking her for her letter, asking for details of when Ann Hare intends to visit so that she can ensure the room and bed are properly aired, she is very melancholy at present because her son is unwell, and he is away from home so she is unable to care for, she would risk her own precarious health to go to care for him, thanking Ann Hare for the recipe, she will try it out as her stomach is very bad
