Dear Madam/
your obliging Letter was duly Reci;d
and feel ourselv’s Truly happy in accepting
your motherly Protection for our dear girl
at the Xmass Vacation, and hope by her future
conduct she may continue to merit the apro{^bation}
of such valuable friends_ but Indeed my dear Madam
to make us happy you must afford us the Pleasure
of your Society in Cumberland- as soon as opportu{^nity}
will admit, after the Return of our daughter from
School, for I cant avoid saying we all wish to
share your friendship, as a small token of
ours we forwarded, {^about 11 dayes ago} a small Box address’t to you,
containing two Pots of {?Chorr}, one of which you
will do us the favour to accept, the other for your
amiable mother - who our dear Margret has ever
spoken of with the highest Respect, with Mr Benson
and my daughter uniting in most Respectful Comps
to your self & Mr Hare I beg Leave to subscribe myself
your most obliged well wisher
