Dear Mary Ann
I am sorry I have
delayed writing to you for so long a time
but I hope you will excuse it if I
send you a long letter this time.
I have left off riding at present
I believe we are not to go to the riding
school any more. I am sorry your
Mother has been poorly I hope she
Is better. I have had the Child=
=blains in one of my heels which

obliged me to stay in the house
all the time Tom was at home.
Miss Roberts has had five
gathered fingers but they are
all got pretty well again.
We had a very nice Dance on
the Wednesday before Tom left
I think we made ten couple
altogether I wish you had been
here I daresay you would have
liked it – our Poney ran away
from us and stayed three weeks

my Father had hand bills
sent about it and had it menti=
=oned in the papers after all it
was found near Barton,
as my Father is waiting to take
this letter to town I must conclude

Apologising for her delay in writing, but she will send a long letter to make up for it, mother has been poorly, Betsy has had the chilblains, Miss Roberts has gathered fingers, they had a Dance, the pony ran away and they had to print handbills to help find it.
