My Dear Daughters
I had thought to have deferred writing till Mr
Wittenbury had return’d who says will be in About a forth
night, but was afraid you would think it to long A Silence
& be uneasy this comes to inform you that through Mercy
Your Father & I & Relations are injoying that great & inva=
=luable Blessing health. O that we may be thankfull
we had the Pleasure the week after we came home of
Dear Mr Medleys company he set out from home on
Monday morning & Preached for us the same evening from
Prov the 3 & 35 on Tuesday at Gatley from Job the 23 & 6
two Mrs Berrys Sister Spear your Father & I went with
him in two Chases & came back the same evening the
next morning he went to Bacop & Preached there that even=
=ing on Thursday at Greenacors near Oldam at two O Clock
& the same evening at Manchesr from Jonah the 2 & 4
Look Again he shew’d in a many perticulars

that a Christian had need of looking again & again through
all his Pilgrimage state & when they come to Glory they
will look again & again to all Eternity & still see new
wonders, he set out on Friday morning for Liverpool I am
shure he had a Busy week & hope a profitable one –
last Wednesday we was favoured with Dear Mr Fawcitts
company & Preach’d for us that evening from Job the 22 & 21
an excellent discors greatly to the satisfaction of all present
he desired his kind Respects to you when I wrote –
we are highly favoured with Precious means as well as
you, O that we {^may make} sutable Returns & improvements
your Father is Necesseated to go to Lancaster Assizes the
latter end of this Month he’s summoned upon the jury
I have some thoughts if Please God to spare Life & health
to go with him & we think of setting out some Day before
the time of the Assizes & calling at Blackpool to bath
which I hope (a Devine Blessing Attending it) will be of
further seris to him in braseing up his Ners against
winter, should we live to come home again we shall
think of jorneying towards Northampton which I often

which think of with pleasure but I desire to take the advoice that St Paul
givs the Corinthians where he exhorts those that weep to be as tho they
weept not & those that Rejoice as tho they Rejoiced not which brings
to my mind a saying of an Old Auther viz Burges you can never
look for to little from the Creature, nor {^for} to much from God & but I must
conclude my Dear joyns me in Respectfull Compliments to Mr Roylands
Mr & Mrs Trinder with our Love to you your Cousn Bec Smithson longs
to hear from you don’t let it be long before you write both to her & me
