Heath, April 6th 1803
Dear Mother,
You may easily concieve the pleasure
my Brother W & I had yesterday on account of seeing my Fa-
ther so much recovered, though I can percieve a great difference
in his look. I recieved our pantaloons this morning with W's
waistcoat, we thank you, & will wear our pantaloons as soon
as the weather permits. I hope you will give our love to my
Uncle & thank him for {^his} letter to us by our father & tell
him we hope to [illeg] advantage from it. I shall be ex-
-tremely glad to recieve a french letter from Mr Barker &
I shall do my endeavours to write him one as soon as I can but I
daresay he will not expect anything capital at present.
I continue my drawing this next quarter, but not dancing
William is well & writes with me in Duty to my Father, & you
(as I am afraid we shall not have the pleasure of seeing him
on his return from Nottingham) & love to Kate & cousins

He is pleased his father is recovered, and thanks his mother for the sending of clothes. Some discussion of family members and acquaintances, and hopes to receive a 'French letter' from one. He is continuing his drawing but not dancing in the next quarter.
