Sunday Morning 13th July
I have this moment your my beloved [?hud] in [illeg] was unexpected as you [illeg] told me you did not expect [illeg] be able to write [illeg] during your [illeg] in the Kingdom of Fife. I confess I did flatter myself that you would [illeg] [illeg] as your own Christina if [illeg]; and I can [?asure] you if your [illeg [illeg] at Kingdom was a little cold e'er you got your [illeg] finished to me; when I tell you that it was received with heartfelt pleasure I am convinced your [illeg] not grudge the time you took: - Since you and I never have [?complained], and [illeg] getting [illeg] way every the little treasures are as well as you could wish them. and I believe they long nearly as much for them dearest [illeg] [illeg] as soebody else. dont let this speech hurry you as I really should be sorry [illeg] you & think

I have this moment yours My Beloved Mr A: it
really was unexpected as you absolutely told me you
did not expect to be able to write me during your
sojournment in the Kingdom of Fife: I confess I
did flatter myself that you would write to your own
Christina if possible; and I can assure you if your
Beef Stake at Kinghorn was a little cold {? l'er} you got
your short kind note finished to me; when I tell
you that it was received with heartfelt pleasure
I am convinced you will not grudge the time
you took:- Since you went I never have had a
complaint, and am getting stouter every day
the little treasures are as well as you could wish
them. and I believe they long nearly as much
for their Dearest Papa's return as somebody
else. dont let this speech [?bring] you as

David is in Scotland, and Christina was pleasantly surprised to receive a letter from him. Their children ('little Treasures') are well, and everything at home has continued 'most quietly' in his absence. Contains some loving expressions.
