My dearest C.
Tho’ I wrote to You Yesterday, yet as the
Post I find is irregular, I cannot omit an opportunity that
now presents itself of writing to You again to assure You
that I am well, and that I never forget to think of You -
Our present plan is to [deleted] return in Time to reach
Edinburgh by Friday Evening; and You may be assured
That I shall not be later than that period - No
Letters yet from You - I cannot help being somewhat
anxious as You were not quite well when I left You -
If You write again direct your Letter to be left at
Buchanan Inn {^the Saracen’s Head} Glasgow - Kiss my dear little Anne
for Me. I expect to find her much improven , or
at least grown - for in beauty & sweetness of Temper
I do not suppose it possible for her to receive any
Improvement . Adieu - My Love to all at C.
Yr ever affectionate
