Dear Mary Ann
There is a very nice little
Doll. & a Cradle of Betty’s, my
Dolly is very well, if Mother
pleases I will come home soon
there is a very nice little chair
for my Doll to sit on here
when I come home I will bring
you a nice bunch of Poseys
I have been at the Shoemakers
this is a pleasant Country there
is fruit in the Lanes & I have
had some ripe blackberrys &
plenty will be ripe in another
week or two, we have a great
many nice walks and there
is an old Castle on the top
of a Rock and a great many

Tell Grandmother not to send
the handkerchief that you
are making for my Mother
does not want it here &
would not risk its being lost
