Revd Richard Cumberland to George Cumberland, 4 September 1779
Reports a terrible storm, and the terrible conditions of those travelling through it. Bob temporarily lost his eyesight because the lightning was so bad. Hester was thought to have been struck by lighting, and lay motionless for a while – they thought she was dead. Their mother is in good spirits.
