George Cumberland to Revd Richard Cumberland, 1 Jan 1778
George has been visiting and dining with others in London. Mr Smith’s sister is very ill. Mrs Balchen of Goodmans Fields (the brothers’ maternal cousins) has died suddenly, without any pain, her husband is very shocked. The letter ends with some financial accounts.
