Dear Mother,
We received the [illeg]
this morning with our cloaths & your letter for which I
thank you. Williams stockings & our Coats all fit very
well for which we also thank you. We shall be glad to
have the pleasure of seeing my Father at Heath in
good health again, & also as I shall have an oportunity of
speaking to him about drawing; it will afford me
great pleasure to draw [illeg]addon or any other things
for Mr Barker, as you desire it, if it were worthy of his
acceptance. I intend writing to James tomorrow or sunday
next. As you know I have no breecher to wear every day
but my old blue pantaloons & an old pair that were Ja[mes]
which are both worn out I hope you will send me a new pair of [illeg] one as soon as you conveniently can, & a pair of strong shoes
for William as he is as badly off for shoes as I am for breeches.
William is well & unites with me in duty to my Father
& you [illeg] to Uncle [illeg], I am, Dear Mother,
Your dutiful Son,
John Longsdon
