My dear brother
I received your short though welcome
letter with pleasure and I am sorry my papa forgot
to bring the one you had wrote to send by him
I also received the drawings you were so kind as to send
me I have drawn one of the ships also som[damaged]
but you can not expect them very well done [damaged]
I am not in colours yet but I hope to be in next
half year I was very much surprised to see my papa
but I have not been able to enjoy much of his
company because I have had a swelled face and
I have obliged to stay at school. My papa has
been very much frightened about the price of my
pelisse which cost £6-6s I think it is very dear
indeed. Please to write to me as soon as is convenient
for you know I am always glad to hear from you
give my love to all friends and believe me,
your very affectionate sister,
