Ashenhurst Saturday Aprill ye 9th. 1707.
Deare Sister
I hope this will find you safe at London wch. we shall be glad to
Heare & did hope for by last Post, I have had a [?Lre: shorthand for letter] from my Str.
Hampton she would have [deleted] stuffe to make a second mourning suite
& if there should be mony to spare a suit of {?knots} but I suppose there will
be none & would have you buy ye stuffe very good & we if ye mony
will hold out & we will get what else she wants as soon as we can,
I parted with my BrotE. Stanley very well this day sevennight I hope
my FatE is something better, he gives his Blessing to you, & joins with
me & all here in service to Sr David Nairne my Lady {^&} yEself [deleted] pray let
us by next know if you can wt you shall set homewards
I am Dear Sister &c.
For MEs Stanley at ye Hon.Eble. Sr David Nairns in Queenstreet by
ye upper end of ye Haymarket Westminster.

Thomas Hollinshead to his Sister Stanley, 9 April 1707

Thomas asks his sister Stanley to purchase materials while she is in London, so that Hampton may make a second mourning outfit. He has parted with his brother-in-law ‘very well’ and on good terms. Their father is better.
