Deare Sister
Since I last saw you business has required my constant
attendance, otherwise I would have seen you before this
since my setting out for London has been deferred so long
beyond ye time I expected; have nothing materiall to informe
you of, but desire you would not lay troubles to heart nor
afflict yEself for that wch. it is out of yE power to redress
pray give my service to my BrotE. {^& tell him I should
meeting & am Dear Sister YE most affectionate BrotE.

Thomas’ work is preventing him from visiting his sister Hampton. He counsels her not to worry about a matter over which she has no power. He hopes his brother-in-law, Mr Allen, is better.
