Dear Sister
I hope this will find all well at ye Parke, my FatE.
hopes
take a journy to Ashenhurst, wch. if it might be we should all very
much rejoice for; {^I should have been glad to have come to see you but things will not yet suit for yt purpose} Str Hampton had a Letter lately from my Aunt
Nairne, wherein she wrote yt her youngest Daughter was dangerously
ill; Old Jon. Barlows son has taken ye House his FatE. lives in for
3 years. my FatE gives his service to my BrotE & Blessing to yEself & ye
Children my BrotE & Sisters joine with me in service to my BrotE. Stanley

Thomas is unable to come and visit his sister. Their father had hoped that the good weather would have encouraged her and her family to come to them. Aunt [Lady] Nairn’s youngest daughter is dangerously ill.
