Deare Sister
I recieved yEs by my Sister who got well home; am very much troubled
for ye Acct. She brought us yt you were sometimes much indisposed shall
long to heare of yE amendmt. wch pray let us do by ye first opportunity.

My Father is gone to London, has left anotE parcell of Physick for
Nancy; my Knee is pretty well againe, had thought to have come to
See you in a little Time, wch I much desire, but it is very unhappily
faln out yt we must set upon building an House at Leek as fast as
we can; wch will take up most of my Time at present, but will be
with you as soon as possible; with all our Services & Prayers for
yE. Health I conclude

Thomas Hollinshead to his Sister Stanley, 6 February 1704
Thomas’ sister Hampton has returned from visiting sister Stanley and he is concerned by Hampton’s report that Sister Stanley is unwell following childbirth. His knee is improving but that and business is keeping him from visiting her. Their father has left some medicine for their younger sister, Nancy.
