Dear Brother,
I Recd yours of the 11th Instant & note
it Content I suppose you’l hear this Post from Mr Hodgson
who I desired wou’d write you, particularly how my
Bror did & who promised to write you to Night
since my last, Bror has not been worse but rather a
little easier, Doctor Fothergill has given me hopes
that Bror will gett through it & the Apothercary
also is of the same mind, Dor F: Ever since
Bror has been taken ill has constantly attended twice
every Day Do Lith: has not been so constant, he only
comes in the Evening & that not always, for he has not
been here since Thursday Evening, I hope by the
Blessing of almighty God, that every Post I shall
be able to give you a Comfortable Acct. of my
Bror to Day he was gott up, so as to have the Bed
made, it hurried & fatigued him a little for he
is really exceeding weak & low _ _ _ if it Please
God that he continues to recover, it will be some time
yet before he can be moved into the Country, tho as soon
as that can be done, undoubtedly it will be put in
practice, & the Physicians will advise him to go there
we have a fine season of the year now coming on, wch is
another advantage & I hope that Bror in a little time
will be in a Capacity to take the Advantage of it
Jamca Cotton is sold at 16d / here has been some of the very
Choicest sort sold at 16d/4 x Leewrd Island 14d /
Scotch Yarn I have inquired the Price of is as follows
Montrose yarn from 8l to 10 l p Bunch 2/3d Spinle
Aberdeen Do ---- 8 to 9 ---------- 2/3d
Do -------- 4 to 5 ------- 2/2d
Glasgow Do none in Town 8 to 9 ------ 2/3d
Bror has been asking how my sister does, I hope you’ll
be able to send us an Acct, she is as chearfull as
she used to be, Pray my Love to Sisters & Dolly
& you’ll oblige your

Detailed discussion of their brothers health, he has been a little better and well enough to get out of bed, he has been attended by physicians and apothecaries, they hope the new season will be beneficial to his recovery. Also contains a discussion of cotton prices, including cotton from Jamaica and the Leeward islands.
